WE SEE YOU: RYOKO RAIN x adidas BASKETBALL

Ryoko Rain has always been about more than the clothes. It’s the story-telling and the power of these connections that keeps me obsessing.

Growing up, basketball was everything. It was the center of our universe. I spent endless hours on the court, took that passion to college playing at Chapman University, and carried the lessons from the game into every single thing I’ve built since.

When my daughters—Alba, River, and Poet—came into the world, basketball naturally became a core part of their lives, too. It’s their favorite sport, and watching the three of them fall in love with the game in their own ways has been one of the greatest joys of my life as a dad. They’re my biggest inspirations, my daily reminders to stay present, and the reason Ryoko Rain breathes.

When you think about basketball and culture, you think about the three stripes. adidas is an absolute titan—one of the most iconic, timeless brands in human history. To be honest, a collaboration with adidas Basketball was always one of those dream-board, "what if" goals.

The story of how this came together still gives me goosebumps.

It started with a reach out from Candace Parker. Candace is a true living legend—one of the absolute greatest female basketball players to ever step on the court. Watching her dominate during her time with our hometown LA Sparks was legendary. But what really blew me away was finding out that Candace was genuinely a huge fan of Ryoko Rain. While she was with the Las Vegas Aces, she was wearing our pieces everywhere—and before we knew it, she had her Aces teammates rocking it, too. Seeing a world-class squad wearing our brand naturally and organically was a surreal "pinch-me" moment.

On top of that, her daughter Lailaa fell in love with the brand, too. Knowing that Ryoko Rain was resonating with Candace and her kid in the same way it lives in my home with my daughters—that shared family connection made this whole thing hit on a completely different level. That initial reach out set off a ripple effect that led us straight to a partnership with adidas Basketball.

We built this campaign around a simple, powerful idea: "We See You."

This collection is a love letter to my three girls, to Lailaa, and to the next generation. It’s for every young girl out there stepping onto a court, every parent sitting in the stands watching their kids grow, and everyone quietly putting in the unseen hours. "We See You" is about recognition, inspiration, and honoring the community that lifts us up.

Everything we poured into this project culminated at WNBA All-Star weekend in Chicago. Bringing the collection to life at such an unbelievable event surrounded by the best in the game, our team, and the basketball community was an unforgettable feeling. Seeing the pieces now available on adidas.com, in-store and online at DICK’S Sporting Goods, and through our own platform is a true full-circle moment.

A project of this scale doesn't happen in a vacuum. I want to extend my deepest, most sincere gratitude to the incredible team at adidas for believing in our vision and executing it at the highest level. To Candace, thank you for opening the door and sharing the love. To my unbelievable Ryoko Rain team—thank you for putting your heart into every detail.

And most importantly, thank you to all of you in this community who have supported Ryoko Rain from day one. You keep us inspired, you keep us pushing, and you make all of this possible.

We see you.

Sincerely,
